Jefferson Morley Doesn't Understand Jim Garrison's Homophobic Prosecution of Clay Shaw
Journalist Jefferson Morley published the first of several articles reviewing JFK assassination news in 2022 . Unfortunately, he includes this: In November 2021, the Washington Post published a piece attributing the enduring skepticism about the Warren Commission to, yes, homophobia. Morley is referring to Professor Alecia Long's article in the Washington Post last November, "Behind Americans’ continued fascination with John F. Kennedy’s assassination." His assertion about L

Another Letter to Jim Garrison
A few days ago, I posted a telephone message that was left for Jim Garrison with a lead involving people who were homosexuals. Here is another letter: Here is a transcript of the letter: Dear Mr. Garrison, The below named man checked into a hotel where I work as night cashier. He talked in the coffee bar for perhaps an hour about what a rotten deal you gave Mr. Ferrie, verbally berated you and your attempt to shed some light on the Kennedy killing, and said several times, qu

A Letter to Jim Garrison
Some conspiracy theorists claim that Jim Garrison never brought up Clay Shaw's sexuality. Well, here's an interesting letter sent to Garrison with a lead. You can see Garrison's notation on the first page: NOTE: This was an anonymous call-in for the police recording phone. However, the details are quite specific. Subjects mentioned may have info re SHAW or FERRIE -- or re their relationship. Should be checked out. JG On the top of the page he writes "CONFIRMED LEAD - for foll

What Ever Happened to Jim Garrison?
Like the child star gone bad in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? , Jim Garrison was the reformist District Attorney gone kooky, and Oliver Stone is the famous director who went down the rabbit hole. Modern day Baby Janes, they are irredeemably linked, although it does look like Oliver Stone is trying to break free. His so-called documentary series, JFK: Destiny Betrayed , has three scenes from the film JFK. All of them showcase actor Kevin Costner without telling the audience

Jim Garrison's Homosexual Shakedown Operation
In March 1967, Frank Manning, chief investigator for Louisiana Attorney General Jack Gremillion, was attending the Midyear Meeting of the National Association of Attorneys General. He informed H. L. Edwards of the FBI that he was concerned about "the activities of New Orleans District Attorney Garrison." Here is an unredacted copy of the FBI memo written about Manning's concerns: [hat tip Malcolm Blunt] The FBI had little interest in investigating: I don't think anybody want

James Phelan and Mark Lane Discuss Garrison's Homosexual Conspiracy
This is from a partial transcript of a discussion between Mark Lane and James Phelan. I don't have an exact date for this discussion, but it was probably in 1967. Phelan refers to Breck Wald, who was Breck Wall, an entertainer whom Ruby phoned on the evening of November 23d. Garrison believed he ordered Ruby to kill Oswald. The idea that homosexuals were "used" was also mentioned by Garrison to journalist Jack Anderson. A paragraph from On the Trail of Delusion: (page 78) "

Garrison Mentions a Homosexual Plot to Yet Another Journalist
Washington Evening Star, June 14, 1967 Max Lerner sat down with Jim Garrison at his home in New Orleans for three hours. Money paragraphs: It's not clear exactly when Lerner sat down with Garrison. But this is very consistent with what Garrison told Hugh Aynesworth, James Phelan, Merriman Smith, and Lawrence Schiller. In addition, here is what Perry Russo told Shaw's attorneys in March 1971: Sounds almost identical to the Lerner article. Check out this post on Jim Garrison an

Why was Elmer Renfroe Scared of Jim Garrison?
Elmer Renfroe was a gay man who lived in the French Quarter in New Orleans and once, while drunk, told stories to a confidential informant of Aaron Kohn, head of the Metropolitan Crime Commission: The informant spoke again to Renfroe a few days later: Investigators for Clay Shaw spoke to Renfroe in March, 1967: Renfroe was interviewed again in April: It appears that Richard Townley, a local reporter, might have been the confidential informant. What is interesting is the fact

Garrison's Approach to the Handling of Evidence
Here is an excerpt from a letter that Fred Newcomb wrote to Richard E. Sprague on December 2, 1969: The Mary in the letter is Mary Ferrell. Hey, nothing like using D.A. credentials to "terrorize" a postmaster. Garrison was flippant with the evidence.
