James Phelan and Mark Lane Discuss Garrison's Homosexual Conspiracy
This is from a partial transcript of a discussion between Mark Lane and James Phelan. I don't have an exact date for this discussion, but it was probably in 1967. Phelan refers to Breck Wald, who was Breck Wall, an entertainer whom Ruby phoned on the evening of November 23d. Garrison believed he ordered Ruby to kill Oswald. The idea that homosexuals were "used" was also mentioned by Garrison to journalist Jack Anderson. A paragraph from On the Trail of Delusion: (page 78) "

Was The QUICK Article About a Homosexual Conspiracy Written by Jim Garrison? (Part Two)
There are several other clues which indicate that the QUICK article about a homosexual conspiracy represented Garrison's views. 1. "I found out that the night Ferrie and his two companions were waiting for a call in Houston and Galveston, a certain Breck Wall was also in Houston and then in Galveston. And now it gets interesting - Breck Wall is a close friend of Jack Ruby's - and oddly enough - Jack Ruby was also a homosexual, word of which has strangely enough to this day no

Jim Garrison's Grand Juries...
Few people realize just how much power Jim Garrison utilized in his position as District Attorney of the Parish of New Orleans. Milton Brener, in his superb book The Garrison Case , wrote: "By virtue of his office, the District Attorney is potentially the most powerful of the public officials domiciled at Tulane and Broad ... However, until 1962, the full extent of his strength had been convincingly impressed neither upon the community in general, nor upon the politicians the

Two Letters to Jim Garrison about "A Heritage of Stone"
James Phelan had a great sense of humor, and it is on display in this letter to Jim Garrison. Completely unrelated to this letter is one that Sylvia Meagher wrote to Garrison about A Heritage of Stone. I have presented, earlier in my blog, two memos that Sylvia Meagher wrote about Garrison's prosecution of Clay Shaw. She never thought much of his knowledge of the 26 volumes of evidence, and she never thought much of Garrison's case against the Warren Report as presented in th

James Phelan's Challenge to Jim Garrison
One of the first reporters that Garrison talked to about his case was James Phelan, who had written a laudatory article on him in the June 1963 issue of the Saturday Evening Post. Garrison invited Phelan to Las Vegas and he explained what his investigation had found. He gave Phelan two memos on Perry Russo and Phelan had them photocopied at one of the hotels. He noticed that in a memo written by Andrew Sciambra there was no mention of any party at which there was a discussion
