- Tucker Carlson Continues to Embarrass Himself
Tucker Carlson laughing while talking about Allen Dulles. Ron Paul was recently interviewed by Tucker Carlson -- and both continued to show why they are both bat-shit crazy. Here is a tweet with the Ron Paul video excerpt: “The date I saw it was concrete that there was a coup, and we lost our government was on November 22,” Paul, 88, told Carlson. The date he’s referring to is November 22, 1963, the day John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. “That was 60 years ago and our lawmakers never talk about it,” Carlson said. Paul believes the CIA was directly responsible for the assassination, saying he saw the death of the “republic” when former CIA Director Allen Dulles was allowed to serve on the controversial Warren Commission, which investigated Kennedy’s death. Dulles has previously resigned from his position in 1961 after reported tensions with Kennedy. “The republic is gone,” Paul recalled about his reaction to Dulles’s appointment. - Aaron Rodgers Should be RFK Jr.'s Running Mate!
Now football quarterback Aaron Rodgers spouts off about JFK conspiracy stories: Speaking of RFK, Jr., Rodgers shared that his appreciation of conspiracy theories goes back to the granddaddy of them all, JFK’s assassination. “The last real President was the first President I studied, which was JFK,” said Rodgers. “And that’s what got me into questioning things because I did a sophomore project on JFK, life and death. And when I read, back in the day in 1998 or 9… you read the story about Lee Harvey Oswald being the sole gunman of the president and this magic bullet theory, I remember thinking to myself in the sophomore class, ‘That’s fucking bullshit.’ And that got me into questioning things. “And now when you go back, and I’ve read a ton of books about JFK, about his life, he was trying to do some real shit. He was trying to decrease the power of the Fed and get us back on a metal standard. He was going after corruption. He wasn’t letting the OSS, which turned into the CIA, get us into World War III with Operation Northwoods, which you can go research. “He fired Alan Dulles. And then if you research Alan Dulles’ background and know his connection to the Bushes and how he basically went from banking to espionage to bringing Operation Paperclip, which brought the scientists, the German scientists, into the States… which turned some of them into MK Ultra. “And again, these are not conspiracy. These are all proven things, although conspiracy is a term which gets slighted. Conspiracy theories have been right about a lot of things in the last couple of years, if you go back and look at it.” Rodgers spouted a lot more nonsense which is quoted in the above article by Sean Keeley. Sounds like he'd make the perfect running mate for RFK Jr. This paragraph from Keeley could easily apply to RFK Jr.: In all seriousness, one of the things that becomes abundantly clear when you listen to Rodgers talk long enough is that he doesn’t know what he doesn’t know, and he’s more than happy to continue not knowing it. He sees so much of the world through the lens of someone who has never had to get in the muck and deal with reality. - Oliver Stone and Nazarbayev
Nursultan Nazarbayev appears in the film Qazaq: History Of The Golden Man. Oliver Stone has a lot to answer for: A foundation controlled by former Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbaev paid at least $5 million for a 2021 documentary that sought to whitewash the authoritarian leader's image, an independent investigation has revealed. Qazaq: History Of The Golden Man, a documentary produced by pro-Kremlin U.S. filmmaker Igor Lopatonok, centers around a lengthy interview with the long-serving Nazarbaev done by famous yet controversial U.S. film director Oliver Stone, who also made documentaries about Russian President Vladimir Putin, Cuban leader Fidel Castro, and Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez. Nazarbaev, who ruled Kazakhstan with an iron fist for 30 years, speaks about his childhood, political career, the collapse of the Soviet Union, and Kazakhstan's formation as an independent state. The documentary was criticized by many film experts and dubbed by one a "hagiographic ode" that became part of Nazarbaev's "ongoing cult of personality." The documentary was released in 2021 both as an eight-part miniseries and feature film. It had been in the works since late 2019 -- after Nazarbaev had stepped down from the presidency, though he continued to enjoy enormous political clout in Kazakhstan. According to an investigation by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), a global network of investigative journalists, and the Kazakh-based media site Vlast.kz that was released on March 5 (From Nazarbaev To Lukashenka: Hollywood In The Service Of Dictators), Nazarbaev was personally involved in the making of the film. "Nazarbaev would constantly edit the film, trying to improve [the depiction of] his image," a member of the film crew told OCCRP. Nazarbaev was reportedly satisfied with the final cut of the film, the investigators said. The Nazarbaev Fund -- a charity foundation established when Nazarbaev was in power in 2010 and chaired by daughter Darigha Nazarbaeva -- paid at least $5 million to Lopatonok and Stone, according to the investigation. Lopatonok and Stone had previously denied any Kazakh government involvement in the project. Neither Nazarbaev nor his daughter responded to the investigators' request for comment. - Did Dorothy Kilgallen Have any Special Knowledge about the JFK Assassination?
Jefferson Morley's latest Substack post looks at new calls for an investigation into the death of syndicated columnist Dorothy Kilgallen, who died in 1965 of a drug overdose. She also held two private interviews with Ruby and published his Warren Commission testimony before it was officially released, infuriating the FBI. According to Shaw, the person who passed along that information was Kentucky Senator John Sherman Cooper, a member of the Warren Commission, who, along with Georgia Senator Richard Russell, was never comfortable with the Oswald-did-it-alone narrative. (Shaw’s information came from Cooper’s former aide, Morris Wolff, whom JFK Facts interviewed in December 2023.) Kilgallen was reportedly saving the details of her private discussions with Ruby for her book. She said she had information that would “bust the whole thing open,” according to the Dallas Morning News. Did Kilgallen have, or even claim to have, information that would "bust the whole thing open"? Morley's Substack article sources that claim to the Dallas Morning News. But that 2013 article attributes that quote to "published sources." The News also quoted from Covert Action Magazine, and their article includes many dubious sources, such as: Watergate Burglar and undercover CIA operative Frank Sturgis, who told Marita Lorenz, Fidel Castro’s lover and a fellow CIA agent, that “Kilgallen got whacked” because of her intention to publish a book which included information from her exclusive interviews with Jack Ruby. The idea that Kilgallen would 'bust' the case comes from a quote in the Lee Israel biography, Kilgallen: (pages 392 - 393) When they met {Mark Lane and Dorothy Kilgallen], he found himself charmed and moved by her. He had fought a long and lonely fight. And here was a woman of some power and goodly access to the public weal who shared both his passion and his persuasion. Dorothy told Mark that she hoped to "break the case." He reminded her that there would be formidable obstacles placed in her way, and possibly some personal danger. "That doesn't concern me," Dorothy replied. "They've killed the President, the government is not prepared to tell us the truth, and I'm going to do everything in my power to find out what really happened." So, she told Lane that she hoped to "break the case." That is a little different from having broken the case. Israel's source for the above is Mark Lane. And, if you check Kilgallen's columns you will find lots of factoids and conspiracy nonsense that she got from Lane. For instance, there is this story about a supposed meeting in the Carousel, Jack Ruby's nightclub with Bernard Weissman, J. D. Tippit, and Jack Ruby. Boston Record American, September 4, 1964 Kilgallen got this from Lane's testimony before the Warren Commission -- he had given her a transcript. But it was all nonsense -- Weissman had never been in Ruby's club and was angry that Lane had never approached him for an interview. You can read the whole story in my book; I was a Teenage JFK Conspiracy Freak. (see excerpt below) Here is another Kilgallen story from September 26, 1964 As you can see from this "exclusive" article, Kilgallen received from Mark Lane a transcript of an interview between amateur researcher Shirley Martin and Acquila Clemmons. Other topics in this article are Helen Markham and the supposed Mauser found in the TSBD. All of this material came from Mark Lane. So, what about Jack Ruby? The first meeting between Kilgallen and Ruby occurred in the courtroom during his trial. During a recess, Kilgallen was asked to visit the defense table by one of Ruby's lawyers, Joe Tonahill: (pages 366 - 367 in Lee Israel's book, Kilgallen) Dorothy and Jack Ruby shook hands at the defense table. She tried to cheer him up by complimenting him on his composure. He said that he would welcome the chance to go to a hospital, get well, and perhaps do something "worthwhile." It occurred to her that anything Ruby might choose to do would be a step up from his former life in Dallas. Dorothy asked him whether he was prepared to face the questions about his sexuality, which would undoubtedly be raised at the trial. He replied that he was expecting the issue to be broached. He was, after all, a bachelor who referred to his pet dachshund as his wife. After a couple of minutes, Dorothy returned him to his lawyers. There was also supposedly a private meeting between the two that lasted eight minutes: (pages 368 - 369) Dorothy was standing by the room [a small office off the courtroom behind Judge Brown's bench] during a noon recess. Ruby appeared with Tonahill. The three entered the room and closed the door. The defendant and Dorothy stood facing each other, spoke of their mutual friend, and indicated they wanted to be left alone. Tonahill withdrew. They were together privately for about eight minutes in what may have been the only safe house Ruby had occupied since his arrest. Dorothy would mention the fact of the interview to close friends, but never the substance. Not once, in her prolific published writings, did she so much as refer to the private interview. But what could Ruby have told Kilgallen? He wasn't part of a conspiracy to kill JFK, and his killing of Oswald was an impulsive act. And if Ruby had really told Kilgallen something of tremendous importance, why did she never publish anything regarding the interview? Newspapers would have plastered her story on page one and she would have won a Pulitzer Prize. Book deals would have been flooding in. And Kilgallen had lots of time to tell any secrets. She died in November 1965, and so she had over a year and half to tell anything she supposedly learnt from Ruby. Instead, Kilgallen continued conferring with Mark Lane: (page 402) She spoke to Mark Lane for the last time in late summer or early fall. She said she planned a trip to Dallas. "I expect I'm going to learn a lot this time," she said. He was about to leave the country, and promised that he would telephone on his return. They discussed, at some point, another perception, jointly held. The Life magazine that she carried with her, featuring the inculpatory picture of Oswald with a Carcano in one hand and socialist literature in the other, was said to have been taken by Marina Oswald in their backyard in Texas, on March 31, 1963. It was purportedly confiscated by the police when they went foraging for Oswald's belongings. Oswald exclaimed, upon seeing the photo, that the picture had been doctored, that it was not his body and that he would prove it in time. Kilgallen's last JFK story ran on September 6, 1965: Boston Record American, September 6, 1965 I have no comments on the death of Kilgallen. I doubt the investigation will be reopened, and even if it was, there is no evidence of any relationship between her death and her short interview with Jack Ruby. I wish Jefferson Morley's Substack would not always play up conspiratorial angles. Here is a very good article on Dorothy Kilgallen and the JFK assassination: In the early morning hours of November 8, 1965, just four hours after doing the live broadcast of "What's My Line?" and not long after she had left her next-day's column under the door of her apartment, Dorothy Kilgallen died under circumstances that remain puzzling to this day. The official expalantion of complications from barbituates and alcohol remains dubious to some people because they felt that Kilgallen was largely over her addictions by 1965, especially since she had recently begun a happy affair with a gentleman Israel describes as "The Out-Of-Towner". The tape of the "What's My Line?" broadcast however, clearly shows her slurring her speech at various points (not "crisply perfect" as Israel falsely claims). None of this affected her game-playing abilities, which were always superior to any other member of the panel, but it is clear that she was not in the best of health that particular night. In 1978, HSCA counsel Robert Blakey asked for a review of Kilgallen's autopsy (a copy of which is in the JFK Assassination files in the National Archives), but he and his staff evidently found nothing worth pursuing since no mention of Kilgallen ever made it into the final report. Someone might be able to prove someday that there was more to Dorothy Kilgallen's death than met the eye that night. But if someone succeeds in doing that, he will still not be able to show that it could have had any remote connection with the JFK assassination. If one encompasses everything she knew at the time of her death, it is clear that she did not have a clue as to what the truth really was. Her entire investigation had consisted of shoddy detective work on her part, coupled with false and misleading information from a dishonest gentleman named Mark Lane. Had she been able to tell the world everything she knew on the night of her death, they would have been given another sneak preview of some of the stories Mark Lane would trumpet in his book (i) Rush To Judgment (i), as well as a possible preview of some of Jim Garrison's outlandish assertions that culminated in his witchhunt against Clay Shaw. In both instances, Kilgallen had been nothing more than a courier, not an investigator. Excerpt from I was a Teenage JFK Conspiracy Freak on the alleged 'secret tryst' in Ruby's club: (pages 59+) The 26 volumes also contained some really strange witness reports and the critics uncritically accepted them. Take, for example, the story of Carroll Jarnagin, published by the Warren Commission as Commission Exhibit 2821 in volume 26 of the Evidence and Hearings. Penn Jones took material from this exhibit and published it in his Midlothian Mirror newspaper which was then re-published in Ramparts and in his book. Jarnagin was a Dallas lawyer with a healthy imagination. In December, 1963, he sent a letter to the FBI stating that he had overheard a discussion at Jack Ruby’s nightclub, the Carousel Club, on October 4, 1963. He was accompanied there by a stripper with the stage name of Robin Hood. He overheard a man with the name of H.L. Lee talking to Jack Ruby about killing Governor John Connally. After the assassination, he recognized H.L. Lee as Lee Harvey Oswald. With his photographic memory, Jarnagin furnished a complete transcript of the conversation. Man who had been sitting alone: I’m using the name of H.L. Lee. Ruby: What do you want? Lee: I need some money. Ruby: Money? Lee: I just got in from New Orleans. I need a place to stay, and a job. ... Ruby: You’ll get the money after the job is done. Lee: How about half now, and half after the job is done. ... Ruby: How do I know that you can do the job? Lee: It’s simple. I’m a Marine sharpshooter. Ruby: Are you sure that you can do the job without hitting anybody but the Governor? Lee: I’m sure. I’ve got the equipment ready. Ruby: Have you tested it? Will you need to practice any? Lee: Don’t worry about that. I don’t need any practice; when will the Governor be here? Ruby; Oh, he’ll be here plenty of times during campaigns. Lee: Where can I do the job? Ruby: From the roof of some building. The transcript goes on for several pages. The FBI interviewed Jarnagin and their report is included in CE2821. He told them he first became aware that Oswald was part of the conversation on November 24 but he failed to report it until early December. He “had considered the possibility that his mind was playing a trick on him and that he imagined the conversation, but he stated that he had reached the conclusion that this was not true.” He then told the agents that he had an alcoholism problem and that, on the night in question, he was drunk. He was also undergoing a divorce from his wife. Even so, “he still believes he could recall the events that occurred.” Jarnagin claimed that right after the conversation he had telephoned the Texas Department of Public Safety. FBI agents contacted them and they said they had never received such a call. In addition, Jarnagin’s companion, Shirley Mauldin (aka Robin Hood) “overheard no conversation in the Carousel Club between Ruby and anyone, and she could recall no discussion regarding the shooting of the Governor of Texas.” The Dallas District Attorney’s office administered a lie detector test and Jarnagin failed miserably. Dallas reporter Hugh Aynesworth recounts in his book, Witness to History, that one of his friends in December, 1963, had talked to Jarnagin. “He’s told us other stories. One about LBJ we would have loved to believe, another about John Tower. The guy gets around, especially in his own mind.” Not surprisingly, Carroll Jarnagin was not mentioned in the Warren Report. Penn Jones left out of his report the fact that he was drunk at the time of the conversation and that his companion could not substantiate anything. Jarnagin told Jones that “he once made 100 on a college chemistry examination with many chemical formulas as answers. He said, “I made 100 on the test and I think I could recite the chemical formulas to you right now.” Jones wanted a “thorough investigation of the Jarnagin statement.” Yet, had he read the Warren Report, he would have learned that Lee Harvey Oswald was on a bus on October 3 returning from Mexico City. He spent the night at the YMCA and on October 4 hitchhiked to the Paine residence where he spent the night. He could not have been in the Carousel Club that evening. Mark Lane fell for a very similar story. Fort Worth Star-Telegram reporter Thayer Waldo told him that Bernard Weissman (author of an ad in the Dallas Morning News on the morning of November 22, 1963, denouncing Kennedy), police officer J.D. Tippit, and Jack Ruby met in the Carousel Club on November 14, 1963. Lane told the Warren Commission about this incident on March 4, 1964, but refused to name his source for the story. Lane wrote in his book, Rush to Judgment, that Thayer’s informant “was a frequent visitor to Ruby’s club—not because of the strip show but because of his involvement with one of the dancers.” That sure sounds like Jarnagin. When Weissman heard Lane make the allegation on a radio call-in show, he called in to confront him. “I know what you are trying to do. I think you are hunting for headlines. But you had been talking to some liar in Dallas who has been feeding you all this baloney about me. You are making all these allegations at the Town Hall and now on radio. And you have never taken the trouble to contact me. My name has been in the paper. It is very well known where I live. I am in the phone book. You could have at least tried to contact me.” Lane replied that, yes, he should have called him and that he would “recheck his facts” in Dallas. Weissman called Lane several days later at his office and Lane made him an offer. He said “he would arrange for a public meeting, he would pay my transportation to Dallas to see this guy (Lane’s source) as soon as he could arrange a meeting. And I have not heard from him since.” All this didn’t stop Lane from repeating the allegations in an entire chapter in his book. He did not mention Weissman’s denials nor their discussions. - Oliver Stone and Dictators
Igor Lopatonok, who promoted pro-Russian narratives about Ukraine and produced Oliver Stone’s lengthy interview with Kazakh strongman Nursultan Nazarbayev, had many other projects in store. Here is an incredible story about Oliver Stone and how there were plans to use him to make additional documentaries about other dictators: The U.S.-based documentary filmmaker [Igor Lopatonok] already has several controversial projects under his belt. In collaboration with acclaimed Hollywood film director Oliver Stone, he has produced two documentaries on Ukraine that were widely panned as pro-Kremlin propaganda and a hagiographic eight-part mini-series on Kazakh leader Nursultan Nazarbayev. As it turns out, he had much more in store. In dozens of documents obtained by OCCRP and Vlast.kz, Lopatonok laid out plans for a series of fawning documentaries meant to burnish the reputations of the autocratic leaders of Belarus, Azerbaijan, and several other authoritarian nations. A key selling point of at least two of these pitches was the involvement of Stone, who would supposedly conduct on-camera interviews with the dictators. It’s unclear from the documents — which include internal emails and film synopses as well as pitch brochures — whether Stone was on board with Lopatonok’s plans this time around, or even aware of most of them. None of the projects has come to fruition. Stone and his business manager did not respond to requests for comment. Lopatonok, in an interview with OCCRP last week, said Stone was fully aware that he had proposed documentaries to several dictators, whom he referred to as “my heroes.” “You will not make any news with that,” Lopatonok said in response to a question about Stone’s knowledge of the pitches. “You know that, right?” One of the proposed documentaries with Oliver Stone was to be about Azerbaijan strongman Ilham Alivev. There was also a proposal to make a documentary film about Belarus dictator Lukashenko: The article continues: Emails between members of Lopatonok’s team suggest that Stone had agreed to participate in at least one of the projects, the Lukashenko film — until the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, which appears to have put a stop to his involvement. (Stone publicly spoke out against the war in March that year, saying that Russia had been “wrong” to invade — although he also argued that Putin had been “baited” into the decision by the United States.) “Unfortunately, the [Belarus] project was put on pause because of Oliver’s refusal,” wrote producer Igor Kobzev to a crew member in June that year. “All the attempts to find a new interviewer were unsuccessful because of the war in Ukraine (everyone that we contacted refused). I’m in a very difficult situation.” Kobzev did not respond to a request for comment. Until that roadblock, Lopatonok seemed to have hit upon a promising formula. He had assembled a small team of screenwriters and producers who churned out film ideas to pitch to dictators, making an enticing offer: copious screen time with a world-famous director. The key to “monetizing” the process was simple, said an insider who worked on the team, and agreed to speak with reporters on condition of anonymity. Lopatonok had figured out how to offer powerful people something they couldn’t resist: Legitimacy on the world stage. “There’s a star — Stone — who can be sold. That’s it,” the insider said. “They’re being bought for trinkets, only the trinkets are Oliver Stone. The targets jump on it: ‘Oh, I’m with Oliver Stone! I’ll be shown all over the world!’” This image of Stone as a ticket to worldwide fame may be several decades out of date. Once a critical darling and reliable engineer of box-office success, the Academy Award-winner has more recently been described by Variety magazine as a purveyor of “cantankerous takes.” Previous Relevant Blog Posts Two Views on Oliver Stone's Love Affair with Nazarbayev... J. Lee Rankin (on the left) Paul Bleau's first chokehold is that "the official record impeaches the Warren Commission." He believes that: (page 38 in the Kindle edition of his book Chokeholds) U.S. investigations into the assassination, statements made by investigation insiders and foreign government conclusions about the assassination prove that there is a strong consensus by the independent investigative authorities that there was a conspiracy in the murder of President John F. Kennedy. Bleau's chapter then lists out a variety of statements that seemingly prove conspiracy. Of course, Bleau doesn't tell readers the full truth about these viewpoints. J. Lee Rankin Bleau Assertion: Bleau uses some excerpts of an HSCA phone interview with J. Lee Rankin to make it appear he now had doubts about the conclusions of the Warren Report: (page 50 in the Kindle edition) In 1978, before an executive session appearance, the top legal expert of the Warren Commission, J. Lee Rankin, was interviewed by Michael Ewing, a staff member for the HSCA. A report on the phone conversation was declassified in the mid-1990s which clearly underscores his dissatisfaction with the FBI and the CIA in their investigations and their cooperation, and the doubts he had about the Warren Commission conclusions. What Bleau Doesn't Tell You: Rankin was upset about the destruction of an Oswald note by FBI agent James Hosty and the failure of the CIA to disclose its involvement in plots to assassinate Fidel Castro. Rankin also told Ewing that "he has nothing to regret about his work on the Commission, and that he tried his hardest to make it the best investigation possible. He said he still believes very strongly that he had a good staff of the finest legal minds." However, Bleau wouldn't include this testimony from Rankin before the HSCA: Mr. Klein: As you sit here today, do you still believe the conclusions of the Warren Commission to be correct? Mr. Rankin: I do. And this as well: Mr. Devine: Finally, Mr. Rankin, recognizing that nearly 15 years have intervened since the event and 14 years since the filing of the Warren Commission report, learning the things that you have learned during the intervening period, the new technical exotic crime detection techniques that have developed, additional witnesses that were not available to you, the meeting of the Rockefeller committee, the Church committee, the Assassinations committee and all, as you sit here today, do you feel that the Warren Commission, had the benefit of all this additional information, would have reached a conclusion different than that which you actually did? Mr. Rankin: No; I think the Commission would not have arrived at any different conclusions. Jim Leavelle (in white) handcuffed to Lee Harvey Oswald Paul Bleau's first chokehold is that "the official record impeaches the Warren Commission." Jim Leavelle Bleau Assertion: (page 41 in the Kindle edition of Chokeholds) In 1988, he told author Gary Fannin that "Oswald would never have been found guilty of killing Tippit or JFK at the time of his death." What Bleau Doesn't Tell You Fannin claims that Leavelle told him that, at the time of Oswald's murder that "we did not have enough proof to find Oswald guilty in a court of law." I don't know if this is what Leavelle really said. It might be true that on November 24th, Leavelle did not think they had all the evidence. Bleau won't quote what Jim Leavelle told author Larry Sneed: (page 408 in No More Silence) But, over the years, I've heard all the stories, and I haven't seen or read anything that has caused me to change my opinion that Oswald acted alone, as did Jack Ruby. We had convicted many in Dallas on far less evidence than what we had on Oswald. The FBI Summary Report Bleau Assertion: He writes that the FBI Summary Report concluded that Connally's and Kennedy's "wounds were caused by three separate bullets" and that "This preliminary scientific finding, which obliterates the Single Bullet Theory (ergo a lone gunman), can be found on page 8 of the FBI summary report prepared in December 1963." (page 41) What Bleau Doesn't Tell You This was a preliminary FBI report given to the Warren Commission in early December, 1963. The report covered Oswald and Ruby, and says little about the actual shooting. To use this as proof that the single bullet theory is wrong is disingenuous. Bleau references page 8, and here is the relevant paragraph: It says, "two bullets struck President Kennedy, and one wounded Governor Connally." This is actually correct. It doesn't specifically say that separate bullets hit them. Further it was not meant as a final report and right up front the report notes that "We are continuing to receive leads concerning Oswald and, consequently, at the conclusion of the report, it is stated this investigation will continue in order to resolve them." The last page of Volume I of this report states "the intensive investigation of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy is continuing." And the last page of Volume V notes "The investigation will continue until every possible source of pertinent information has been exhausted." Bleau will also not tell his readers about this memo: Belmont writes to Tolson that although a preliminary report on the assassination will be available on November 29th, "The investigation ... will continue, because we are receiving literally hundreds of allegations regarding the activities of Oswald and Ruby ... " Previous Relevant Blog Posts on Paul Bleau Paul Bleau Chokes, Part 5 Bleau discusses the conclusions of the HSCA, but leaves out it most important finding. Charles Shaffer, Staff member -- Former Justice Department Investigator Bleau Assertion: (page 51) "In a 2014 Washington Post interview, Charles Shaffer admitted that he now thinks that JFK was assassinated as a result of a mob-related conspiracy involving Santo Trafficante and Carlos Marcello. He also claimed that Warren’s biggest blunder was not allowing Ruby to testify in Washington where he may have exposed a conspiracy." What Bleau Doesn't Tell You: Shaffer still believed that Oswald killed JFK: In interviews I have been conducting for a new edition of my 2013 book on the assassination, Shaffer told me there probably was a conspiracy in President Kennedy’s death, which makes him the first commission insider to say so publicly. He said he has no doubt that Oswald was the lone gunman in Dealey Plaza. Nor does he question the single-bullet theory, developed by the commission’s staff, which holds that one bullet passed through the bodies of both Kennedy and Texas Gov. John Connally. But he now suspects that the assassination was the work, ultimately, of organized-crime figures who somehow manipulated Oswald into gunning down the president in Dallas on Friday, Nov. 22, 1963, and then directed strip-club operator Jack Ruby to silence Oswald by killing him two days later. “The Warren Report was an honest report, based on what we knew at the time,” Shaffer said. “But nothing should have been written in stone. There were later developments that convinced me that maybe we missed something.” Part of Shaffer's reasoning is that "It made sense that Trafficante and Marcello would have wanted revenge for the Justice Department’s aggressive prosecution of mob figures during the Kennedy administration ..." How on earth could organized crime manipulate Oswald into assassinating JFK? Philip Shenon, author of the article which quotes Shaffer, wrote: I was never swayed by the theories of a mob plot, if only because it seemed so unlikely that the Mafia would enlist such pathetic misfits as Oswald and Ruby in the crime of the century. Paul Bleau's new book, Chokeholds, provides a never-ending source of material for my blog. For instance, was Lee Harvey Oswald a loner? In Chapter 1, "The Official Record Impeaches the Warren Commission," Bleau writes: (pages 80 - 81 in the Kindle edition) The committee had other troubling conclusions: Neither Lee Harvey Oswald nor Jack Ruby were the loners depicted by the Warren Commission, and were involved in relationships that could have matured into a conspiracy ... Bleau notes above that "neither Lee Harvey Oswald nor Jack Ruby were the loners depicted by the Warren Commission ... " He also writes: "The claim that Oswald was a loner with no ties with intelligence agencies is one of the greatest deceptions put forth by the Warren Commission." (page 225) However, later in his book, in Chapter 6, "Prior Plots, The Fair Play for Cuba Committee, and Useful Idiots," Bleau quotes from James Douglass's book, JFK and the Unspeakable: (page 242 in Chokeholds) Both Vallee and Oswald could be shown to have extremist political views. Both owned rifles. Both were basically loners. How's that for having it both ways? Paul Bleau's book, Chokeholds, is a goldmine of material to debunk. In my first post on his book, I examined his introduction and found some comments which indicated that he believes the backyard photographs were faked. Over the next several months, I will be going through his book to show exactly what he leaves out in the various people and reports that he quotes. I think there's enough material to keep me going for quite some time. In Bleau's chapter 9, "Proof of a Front Shot is Overwhelming" he includes the above picture with this comment: During a press conference shortly after JFK was pronounced dead, White House Press Secretary, Malcolm Kilduff described the cause of death while pointing to his forehead, "Dr. Burkley told me it's a simple matter ... of a bullet right through the head." Bleau should know that, at that early stage, Kilduff was just expressing the fact that Kennedy was hit in the head. He wasn't trying to show the exact location of the wounds. Of course, while Bleau quotes Kilduff to make his case, he doesn't object to Kilduff only referring to one bullet, as opposed to two bullets. So, did Malcolm Kilduff believe in conspiracy? Here is an article from the Dallas Morning News from November 23, 1999: As you can see, Kilduff was convinced the shots came from the Texas School Book Depository: When the shots were fried, Mr. Kilduff, said, the car he was riding in was directly under the sixth-floor window where Lee Harvey Oswald had been. "I immediately turned and looked up," he said. "There is no doubt in my mind that's where all the shots came from." I wonder why Paul Bleau didn't reference the above article.
