James DiEugenio on Permindex: A Case Study, Part Two

Here is another example of how James DiEugenio misinterprets documents.
In Part two of his essay on Clay Shaw and Permindex, he writes this:
Nagy then announced that Permindex would be opening up an affiliate called Centro Mondiale Commerciale in Rome. According to a Time-Life internal memo, Shaw visited their new HQ prior to its official opening. This was a 37,000 square foot office building originally constructed in 1942. Shaw was then reported by the State Department to be on the Board of Directors. (State Department cable of 11/7/58)
DiEugenio references an internal Time-Life memo.
There are, in fact, two Life memos that I know of that discuss Permindex.
Here is the first:

All of the information in this memo comes from the Paese Sera series of articles on Clay Shaw that appeared a few days after his arrest. Most of he information was made up and there were numerous errors. For instance, the crack reporters at Paese Sera couldn't even figure out that Louis Bloomfield was a lawyer in Montreal, and not a banker.
And note this sentence on page two:
Paese Sera admits that there are no proofs or evidence that Shaw has indeed been in Rome ..."
Here is another Time-Life memo:

This memo is a translation of an article that appeared in L'Humanité, the newspapers of the French communist party, and it was based on the Paese Sera series.
Here is that article from L'Humanité:

And so once again, DiEugenio tries to hide the fact that the source for another once of his allegations is Paese Sera. In this case by trying to claim the information came from a Time-Life memo.
All roads lead to Paese Sera.
