A photograph of Perry Russo from the files Richard Billings. - Can a Human Body Be Knocked down by a Bullet?
An important article related to the possibility of a grassy knoll shot being responsible for Kennedy's head snap: Here is a YouTube video of interest. Here is another short article on the topic of momentum. And don't miss Nick Nalli's review of Josiah Thompson's Last Second in Dallas. Update: A good comment from Facebook: I think this is a good review on some of the principals of momentum and kinetic energy, which I think has been confusing at times in this case. A couple of comments I would make is that the statements they made that momentum is a physical force should be reworded, but that doesn’t impact their message. Secondly the message that bullets don’t majorly impact body motion is relevant, and backward hurling of bodies is Hollywood stuff, but the statement “So once and for all: no momentum-induced translocation of a person receiving a hit from a small arm takes place” could probably use some additional clarity on translocation and the mass of the object hit. This tends to sound like no position changes would happen at all. They did mention that small linear motions can be seen but on gelatin blocks which have far less mass than a human body. But on larger body mass parts, like the head (and attached torso) seen on the Zapruder film, the initial movement of the head and torso, both forward, as a result of a rear strike was evident, at a little over 2” and 1” respectively by z313/314. Overall, a good general overview. - Lucien Haag on Bullets and Kinetic Energy
Yesterday, I posted an article on the physics of momentum in ballistics. Here is an article by Lucien Haag on the same topic. Hat tip: Hideji Okina. Money Quote: From the calculations presented here and the demonstrative tests, it should be abundantly clear that typical small arms projectiles impacting gunshot victims do not and cannot, cause any major or significant body movement in the victim as a result of momentum transfer of the dissipation of kinetic energy in the gunshot victim. On the other hand, gunshot victims may display substantial, dramatic, even gross movements upon being shot, but such movements are not the consequence of any physical effect associated with a bullet's impact and penetration into the body. Such movements may be due to a pain response, an avoidance response, or the continuation of a voluntary movement already initiated when the gunshot wound was received. - Sylvia Meagher's Letter to Penn Jones about Jim Garrison
Here is text of the first part of the letter for those who find it hard to read: Dear Penn: This will reply to your letter of 21 October 1967 in which you say: "I didn't know until recently that you convinced Tom Bethell to give Jim's plans to Shaw's attorneys. If you care to I would love to have the story for The Continuing Inquiry." I have always felt proud that I was among the first of the critics to realize that Garrison was a dangerous charlatan and that I denounce him publicly at every possible opportunity. I have also felt proud that I played some small part in preventing the kind of injustice to Clay Shaw that was suffered by Lee Harvey Oswald -- the stigma of "assassin" placed upon an innocent man. The Continuing Inquiry, November 22, 1977 Money Quote: Quite a few years have passed since the shameful and mortifying trial of Clay Shaw. My recollection is no longer vivid. But I do remember that Tom Bethell was convinced that Shaw was being ruthlessly and cynically framed and that the detailed evidence he needed in order to build his defence was being wrongfully withheld from his attorneys. I have every sympathy with Bethell's moral dilemma and crisis of conscience and I strongly encouraged him to give to Shaw's attorneys the information to which they were clearly entitled but which Garrison was denying them. I am deeply gratified that Bethell's action led to the exposure of Charles Spiesel as a plain lunatic -- a "witness" clearly paranoic, deranged, and hallucinating. The very fact that Garrison attempted to use such a witness vindicates all my charges against him. Here is Bethell's letter to Meagher: Here is more information on James Mays. Money Quote: Thus there has been a misunderstanding which I ought to be able to clear up, were it not for the fact that there have been other indications that I am no longer trusted, such a noticeable decline in the number of memos, etc., coming across my desk! Oh well. I suppose it's my due. I think a good move would be to offer to resign, as the offer would almost certainly be turned down. How do you feel about my position, from a moral point of view? Maybe I should just quit, but I am so tempted by the unique opportunity to see and tell the whole story. As a result of your call tonight I decide to take - and have already taken - precautionary steps with regard to the protection of ... er ... certain material ... so don't worry too much, they'll have to kill me. Here is what Meagher did tell Bethell: Money Quote: I do agree that you have an invaluable opportunity to see and expose the whole sordid story. That is of the utmost importance, for the sake of the victims of this "investigation" and for the historical record. The fact that you work for Garrison does not commit you to covering up improprieties or fraud. In August of 1968, Tom Bethell leaked the list of prospective witnesses in the Shaw trial to Shaw's attorneys. There was no discovery in Louisiana courts at the time of the Shaw trial. I wonder whether Garrison would have even prosecuted Shaw had he known that Shaw's attorneys would have received the case files. - The Eviction of Permindex (CMC)
I recently hired someone in Italy to retrieve an article from the February 16, 1962 edition of Paese Sera. The headline and sub-heads translates as: The Company Has Not Paid the Rental Fee Since 1960 The World Trade Center will be evicted from the EUR It rents, for over 100 million a year, the so-called Authentic Art and Modern Art buildings and all the ground floors and basements of the Palazza dell Tradizioni Popular - Colossal favors to managers and board members - A protest from the senator Latini who defined the Center's activity as "hoarding of markets for private interest" According to conspiracy theorists, Permindex (CMC) was a CIA front to fund right-wing extremist groups. There was never any evidence to back up the claim. But would the CIA really use a company that couldn't even pay its rent? It seems reckless to me, particularly as the article claims that tax authorities were now going to get involved. Bonfantini, di Torino; dell'on. Grazie all'interressamiento e all'aluto dell'avv. Here is the translation: The Company Has Not Paid the Rental Fee Since 1960 The World Trade Center will be evicted from the EUR It rents, for over 100 million a year, the so-called Authentic Art and Modern Art buildings and all the ground floors and basements of the Palazza dell Tradizioni Popular - Colossal favors to managers and board members - A protest from the senator Latini who defined the Center's activity as "hoarding of markets for private interest" The World Commercial Center, an international organization that aims to transform the EUR into a permanent exhibition of products from all parts of the world, and has occupied and authorized, for this purpose, some monumental buildings of the new Roman district, will receive the eviction for default. In fact, following a legal dispute discussed in court recently, it became known that the large company is not paying the rent of 31 August 1960. The World Commercial Center will have had the two so-called "Art Antica" and "Art Moderna" buildings and all the ground floors and basements of the "Palace of Popular Traditions" leased from the EUR Autonomous Body since 31 May 1958 with a 9-year contract which set a fee of 101 and a half million for the first 6 years and 142 million and 118 thousand lire for the other three. But to have a more precise idea of the grandiose activity that this organization will propose to carry out in our country, we need to add to the strong one the rent, the even stronger one for allowances and perks for the directors and board members as well as the expenses of the personnel, advertising and taxes; I don't remember 250 million per year. Finally, three hundred telephones complete a dense network of internal and external connections capable of handling a volume of business which, on paper, should have given serious concern to even the most qualified Italian companies. And there was some alarm, to tell the truth, so much so that the president himself of the Lazlo industrial association and then municipal councilor sen. Carlo Latini, years ago, denounced the intentions of the Center at the Campidoglio, revealed the implications in the international field and asked the competent authorities for greater protection of local interests. "The joint-stock company "Centro World Commerciale" - said Sen. Latini on that occasion - intends to create in Italy, in the EUR, a permanent international exhibition within the framework of the activities of the "Permindex" organization of Basel. The Permindex a a Swiss company based in Basel formed by a group of industrialists, bankers and businessmen, mostly Swiss, but also German and American, and completely financed by private sources. "The denounced aim - Pugiunise the spokesperson of the Roman industrialists - is that of developing world trade through the establishment of stable international trade centers and permanent international exhibitions, but once this statement has been stripped of all hyperbole and all camouflage it remains as essentially the mercantile activity of private interest for the capture of the various markets, in anticipation of the goal that the Common Market will have to be -. After a fruitless attempt to pitch tents in Milan, the Center fixed its headquarters in Rome and on its board of directors we find the names of the lawyer Carlo D'Amelio of Rome (appointed president of the Centre); of the Hon. Bonfantini, from Turin; of the Hon. Mario Ceravolo, from Catanzaro; of Prince Gutierrez of Spadafora, industrial manager and farmer from Palermo; of Dr. Ernest Feist of Bern, Swiss minister; of the prof. Max Hagemann, editor of the "National Zeitung"; of Dr. Ferenc Nagy of Herndon, American citizen and president of Permindex; of the prof. Edgar Salin of Basel; of the banker Hans Seligman-Schurch of Basel, and of Mr. Clay Shaw of New Orleans, managing director of the "International Trade Mart". However, outside this board, chosen specifically to give prestige to the company, there were numerous people who some newspapers have portrayed in dark colors without receiving denials or clarifications from the interested parties. Firstly, a stateless Hungarian named Georges Mandel but known by the name of Mandello, defined as the "general manager" of the deal. Then a Canadian citizen, a certain Bloomfield (a major in the US army who a weekly magazine defined as an agent of the American secret service who financed the company for 250 million lire) and Dr Davide Biergun, national secretary of the National Committee for Labor Israel Inc, an based in New York which receives funds to support refugees from Israel. The Biegun, who is staying in a hotel at 123 West 57th Street, N.Y. City, and unknown to the banks, but still manages to significantly finance Mandel's businesses. Among Mandel's deals, alongside the World Commercial Center and always within the framework of Italian initiatives, is the option on one of the most beautiful areas of the EUR overlooking Lake Zulla where a large American hotel should be built in close competition with the Hilton. On the reindeer land posted and you can still see a conspicuous sign with "la serifa" Hotel au Lac, while the Mandel with the option in his pocket (paid around 5 million) searches in vain for buyers, money or capital in America. Lately he had been reduced to selling the option for just 50 million but it seems that everything has expired in his hands. Publishing speculation is Mandel's specialty; but in Switzerland, where his designs were clearly understood, he was not permitted to carry them out; at a certain point, in fact, he was even prevented from entering the Swiss borders. Different treatment, however, was restricted to him in Italy where speculators in the areas always find fertile ground. Thanks to the interest and help of the lawyer. D'Amelio, he was able to negotiate the purchase of a significant part of the Capacotta estate, property of the Serola heirs, for a deferred payment. With the maps of the land and with a subdivision project that transforms the park into a luxurious residential nucleus called "Marina Reale", Mandel recently repeats the trip to America, but not among amateurs. The entire plot and the landscaping project that is about to be carried out in defiance of all the regulations for the protection of the landscape have now passed into the ownership of the Syrian banker Seligman-Schurch in exchange for the capital lost by him in the World Center affair, which now dying. Along with the injunction of the 150 million in back rent, the World Center received further displeasure: the repeated seizure of furniture, for example, and the involvement of the tax police. But it is said, despite everything, that the funds to keep the rickety shack of the Center upright will still come from some bank willing to grant loans on Capacotta's proposed building speculations or on the future and unlikely income from the permanent exhibition. Discussion The tone of this article is not conspiratorial, it takes a somewhat anti-capitalist tone, which is consistent with the goals of Paese Sera. They couldn't pay their rent and they even had their furniture repossessed. Some CIA front. The rumor about Louis Bloomfield is that he is (or was) a Secret Service agent, despite being a Canadian citizen. Paese Sera says this rumor comes from some weekly magazine, and not from the Paese Sera itself. Furthermore, it mentions that he funded the company, when in fact, he was only a lawyer who represented some of the shareholders in North America. In 1967, Paese Sera was more definite -- Bloomfield was "formerly of the secret service." Further, in 1967, Paese Sera talked about some of the troubles facing CMC but said nothing about them being evicted in 1962. The supposed investigation into Permindex (CMC) by Paese Sera in 1967 was a complete sham. Their series of articles were mostly rumors they themselves created and they included a lot of false information (like claiming Clay Shaw lived in Rome for two years working with Permindex). You would have thought that journalists looking into Permindex (CMC) would have simply telephoned Louis Bloomfield in Montreal. Permindex (CMC) declared bankruptcy in December 1964. I now have to find out what Paese Sera wrote back then. Permindex (CMC) was a good idea (to take advantage of the European common market) but they never could get enough tenants to make CMC viable. - On the Trail of Delusion, Episode 44, Six Seconds in Dallas
Here is my book review of Josiah Thompson's Six Seconds in Dallas. You can download my presentation here: My review of Six Seconds in Dallas is not a comprehensive look at every part of Thompson's book. I didn't discuss witnesses like S. M. Holland and Lee Bowers because I have discussed them on blog posts about Lane's Rush to Judgment. I have tried to focus on what a critique from 1967 would look like -- and so I have not brought in newer evidence like the autopsy X-rays and photographs. Here is some additional information about Thompson's magic bullet. On page 166 of Six Seconds in Dallas, Thompson refers to CE 399 as an "atypical projectile." Bullet 399 is an atypical projectile. None of the other bullets fired from Oswald's rifle at standard muzzle velocity preserved their pristine state after hitting anything. Even one of the two ballistics comparison rounds -- projectiles fired into long tubes of cotton waste -- was twisted along a longitudinal axis. I don't think Thompson has enough evidence here to support his conclusion. The other bullet to hit JFK shattered because it hit a skull at full velocity. I don't understand his point about the twisting along a longitudinal axis. Thompson could have done some testing here -- he could have fired bullets from the same batch to see if any would act in his atypical way. But he opted not to do that. He then goes on to note that the wound in JFK's back was an "atypical wound," (page 167) in that Dr. Boswell could only probe the wound "up to the first or second knuckle of the little finger." And thus Thompson believes the bullet fell out during the autopsy. It's not surprising that Boswell couldn't successfully probe the track with his finger -- the muscles and flesh had shifted and the body was in a different anatomical position. Thompson also made the point that Oswald's ammunition was manufactured in 1944: (page 167) The ammunition used in the rifle found on the sixth floor of the Depository was government surplus ammunition last manufactured in 1944. A spokesman for the company that manufactured the ammunition declared that "the reliability of such ammunition would be questionable today." Thompson's source for his first statement was a letter to Stewart Galanor, a researcher for Lane, published in Mark Lane's book, Rush to Judgment on page 411. The company stated that it was not currently producing 6.5 millimeter Mannlicher-Carcano cartridges and that the last production was in 1944. His source for the second statement was a letter sent to Sylvia Meager from the Olin Company by the same person who wrote Stewart Galanor. On page 112 - 113 of her book, Accessories After the Fact, Meagher notes that the Warren Report stated that the ammunition was "recently made" by the Western Cartridge Company. She contrasted that with CE 2694: To resolve the discrepancy Meagher wrote the company, and here is their reply: So, Meagher knew that some ammunition was manufactured in the early 1950s. Unfortunately, she doesn't mention that part of the letter in her book. This document was also in Meagher's files: So, Meagher knew that Oswald's ammunition might not have come from a lot manufactured in 1945 but from a lot manufactured in the early 1950s and perhaps as late as 1954. The reason the company did not answer Lane correctly is that the ammunition made in 1954 might have been manufactured under USMC cover. Meagher probably never saw this file which has the actual dates of manufacture. Meagher did not quote this excerpt from FBI agent Robert Frazier's Warren Commission testimony: In addition, the Infantry Weapons Evaluation Branch of the U. S. Army fired another 46 bullets with no misfires. Even years later, the ammunition was reliable. Here is an excerpt from Dr. John Lattimer's book, Kennedy and Lincoln: (page 288 - 289) Watch this space for more updates about views about Thompson's book. And, of course, don't miss out on Nick Nalli's review of Thompson's second book on the JFK assassination, Last Second in Dallas. Update Here is the review of Six Seconds in Dallas by Arthur M. - John Updike on the the Umbrella Man
Josiah Thompson, in his book Six Seconds in Dallas, discussed the umbrella man: (pages 227 - 228) John Updike mentioned the umbrella man in The New Yorker: The New Yorker, December 9, 1967 Money Quote: We wonder whether a genuine mystery is being concealed here or whether any similar scrutiny of a minute section of time and space would yield similar strangeness -- gaps, inconsistencies, warps and bubbles in the surface of circumstance. The psychologist Rob Brotherton’s book Suspicious Minds: Why We Believe Conspiracy Theories quotes from Updike's article: Money Quote: Our ability to see meaning in mayhem really is a kind of magic. From coming up with an apt analogy to inventing life-changing new technologies, creative thinking depends on spotting connections. It is the cornerstone Of science, too. Learning about reality is an exercise in finding patterns in data, and sorting the real from the random. A brain biased toward seeing meaning rather than randomness is one of our greatest assets. The price we pay is occasionally connecting dots that don't really belong together. Don't miss the video by Errol Morris about the umbrella man. - The Search for the Holy Grail Continues...
NARA released thousands of documents yesterday. Most news outlets treated it like a big deal, but most of them thought that these documents had been previously unavailable. That is just not true -- the fact is is that most of these documents had already been available, but now they are online with fewer redactions. Most conspiracy theorists were disappointed. Jefferson Morley was upset that the George Joannides personnel file was not released: Of course, as I have mentioned before, the ARRB has already examined that file and it does not contain any material relevant to the JFK assassination: James DiEugenio was also upset: Indeed, the Lopez report does mention this section on Oswald. (Page 142 of the report) Footnote 567 reads "See Section" [sic]. However, a cursory search at the Mary Ferrell website yielded this document, in which the CIA discusses the report on Oswald: The memo notes that the report concludes that Oswald was not an agent. Here is a CIA letter to Blakey with recommendations on the editing of the report on Oswald: Here is the unedited report (found by my fellow researcher Paul Hoch). You can check the proposed edits in the above document with this report which confirm this is the report answering whether Oswald was a CIA agent. For instance, the first correction refers to the CIA's 144-volume Oswald file and you can see that reference on page 3 of the report. The bottom line: The results of this investigation confirmed the Warren Commission testimony given by Messrs. McCone and Helms. There was no indication in Oswald's CIA file suggestive in any way that he had ever had any contact with the Agency. Moreover, the Agency employees who would have been in a position to know if Oswald had been associated with the CIA uniformly denied that he had been an agent or connected with the CIA in any capacity. In addition, the report noted: The Holy Grail will never be found because it doesn't exist. While I support all efforts to release all files, I am far more interested in the digitization of the JFK collection. If you really want to understand the JFK assassination and all the ancillary issues, the documents are available, they just aren't all online. For instance, there are 301 boxes of HSCA numbered documents at NARA. Only a small percentage of these are online at the Mary Ferrell website. If you want to understand Jim Garrison, important archives such as Harry Connick, Edward Wegmann, Irvin Dymond, and Clay Shaw are not online. I could only have written my book on Jim Garrison by personally visiting NARA and photographing thousands of pages of documents. All of this material is supposedly being digitized by NARA. This is the material that will be of utmost importance to JFK assassination researchers. The search for the Holy Grail is a distraction.
- Did Tosh Plumlee Try to Abort the JFK Assassination?
Tosh Plumlee in the early 1990s. Tosh Plumlee was one of the main characters in Rob Reiner's podcast series, Who Killed JFK? You can read more about him here, and here. Here is an excerpt from a transcript from the episode, Strange Bedfellows: (35:18) Rob Reiner: Wait till you hear the roster of people who arrived in Dallas that morning. First up, we have Tosh Plumlee, who was a CIA operative and a mercenary pilot during the 50s and 60s. As you may recall, he was stationed at Nags Head, North Carolina, with Oswald. The day of the assassination, Plumlee was tasked with transporting two high-profile people to Dallas. Tosh Plumlee: I was asked to go fly as co-pilot on that particular flight. Rob Reiner: That's Plumlee. Tosh Plumlee: The flight was to go from West Palm Beach to go over to Tampa, and we flew open water across to New Orleans, and some other people got on there at New Orleans, and then from there, we flew into Dallas, Rob Reiner: Plumlee, like everyone else was on a need to know basis, and doesn't claim to know why he was piloting the flight, but he confirmed that one of the passengers on board was mob boss Johnny Roselli. Tosh Plumlee: Roselli was on board our aircraft. So was a couple other Cubans. I don't know for sure who they are. Rob Reiner: There was one other passenger, Plumlee could confirm Tosh Plumlee: His name was Howard Hunt. Rob Reiner: Hunt was a high level American intelligence officer, and as we know, became infamous for his role in the Watergate break-in. Plumlee was also mentioned in the episode Who Killed JFK? Here is an excerpt from a transcript: (8:26) Rob Reiner: Now, some people think there were two shooters. Some people think as many as six. But based on the forensic evidence, the locations of the wounds, and the directions of the shots, we believe there were at least four. There was definitely a shooter on the sixth floor of the School Book Depository building. There was another shooter behind the picket fence on what we've come to call the grassy knoll. Based on the bullet hole in Kennedy's back, as some of Governor Connally's wounds, there were most likely shooters in the Dal-Tex building and the County Records building. Both of these buildings were across Houston Street behind the motorcade. And finally, based on the forensic evidence we have, we believe that a fatal head shot would have come from the overpass on the south knoll. Tosh Plumlee: So we were on the south side, and we were looking for shooters on the other side. Soledad O'Brien: That's Tosh Plumlee, the CIA mercenary pilot who said he flew mobster Johnny Roselli and CIA agent E. Howard Hunt to Dallas that day, Rob Reiner: Plumlee was positioned on the south knoll of Dealey Plaza at the time of the shooting. He said a shot definitely came from that area. And based on the position Kennedy was in at the time and the result of his head wound, we believe this was a kill shot. Reiner says that Plumlee did not know why he was piloting the flight. But, Plumlee provided more details in this 1992 interview: (Thanks to Dave Perry for sending me this document) Plumlee claims he was running guns for Castro. Johnny Roselli was on the supposed flight to Dallas along with "a couple of other Cubans and people that were connected with organized crime in New Orleans." Notice that Plumlee says nothing about flying E. Howard Hunt to Dallas. Plumlee says that "our objective there on the Plaza was to go in and be spotters, to try to stop cross-triangulation gunfire on an ambush. We had people that filtrated out into the Plaza and the object there was to get next to anyone that possibly could have been a shooter and take'em out." He thought there would be three shooter teams -- each team would have a spotter, a shooter and a breakdown man. So they were "looking for 3 on the South Knoll, 3 on the upper knoll, and some in the buildings." Plumlee had earlier in the interview claimed that the CIA were their "support people" for this flight, and "making arrangements" for them. Gee, if the CIA wanted to stop the assassination, why not just abort the motorcade rather than having Plumlee and his team search the Plaza right as the motorcade was passing by? In the last question on this page, Plumlee says that "whether the team that I flew in was a combination of the abort team or the shooter team, I have no way of knowing. It could have been a combination of both or it could have been a complete 100% abort team, I don't know." What? These people might have part of the "shooter team." And he doesn't really know? Plumlee doesn't say one word about E. Howard Hunt in this interview. Here is the supposed FAA flight plan: Here is the write-up by former CIA operative John Stockwell from a meeting with Plumlee in Dallas in 1990: Plumlee tells Stockwell that he has been unjustly jailed several times, and that "some of his jail record, he says, was in fact cover for military intelligence black operations that were being run from a building that was beside a jail." Plumlee had coffee with Fidel Castro in the Sierra Maestra mountains in 1959? Captain Will Fritz was "deeply involved in the plot." Alex Ho (aka A. Kitman Ho) was in this meeting I would imagine representing Oliver Stone. Ho asked Plumlee was his sources were and Plumlee replies that "he would go into greater detail when he had an understanding (a deal). I have to love Plumlee's theory -- "he tried very hard to explain a theory that they had used three lamp posts to line up a "triangulation" which the shooters would all use to mark the kill zone." Marrs realized this was "gibberish" and then "generously tried to help this theory by pointing out that four lampposts could have been used to form a box which would have been quadrisected." The assessment is correct: It must be noted that such people spent half their lives in bars and become notoriously adept at sea stories. There is nothing in all that he said that could not have been gleaned in reading and following the assassination newspaper articles and books over the years ..." I don't think Stockwell ever succeeded in getting Plumlee's account "submitted to a voice stress analysis." You can tell that Plumlee reads a lot of assassination books. Jesse Ventura wrote in his 2013 book, They Killed Our President: 63 Reasons to Believe There was a Conspiracy to Assassinate JFK, that he received an email in May 2013, from Plumlee about Eugene Dinkin: Tosh Plumlee confirmed he believes it was Dinkin's message that was the intelligence actually responsible for sending the Military intelligence abort team mission into Dallas on November 22: It was because of Dinkin's info on November 8, 1963, that the Military Intelligence Abort Team was sent to Dallas to abort the hit. A melding of two ridiculous conspiracy stories. At least it's creative, no? Coming up: Plumlee steals a plane and writes some bad checks. Update Here is an affidavit from Plumlee that was published in Richard Belzer's book, Dead Wrong: Previous Relevant Blog Posts on Tosh Plumlee Eugene Dinkin and Vince Palamara Plumlee writes to Palamara that Dinkin's messages might have been the intelligence to send the abort team to Dallas. Rob Reiner's Podcast Series, Part Two PBS Frontline investigated Plumlee's allegations about Nags Head, North Carolina and could not corroborate any part of his story
