  • Vince Palamara's Epic Failure, Part One

Vince Palamara's new book, The Plot to Kill President Kennedy in Chicago and other Traces of Conspiracy Leading to the Assassination of JFK , is an epic failure. Despite the enticing title, Palamara does not provide any evidence of a plot in Chicago in November 1963. In May 2023, Palamara received a phone call from somebody who had some information on the JFK assassination. This person linked Palamara with former Secret Service agent Nemo Ciochina, who had some explosive information. Ciochina told Palamara that the real conspiracy against JFK was not in Texas, but in Chicago and that he should focus on a man by the name of Lloyd John Wilson. Palamara was sworn to secrecy, but Ciochina died in June 2023 and that meant that he was now free to spill the beans. Palamara says that he "hit pay dirt" with Lloyd John Wilson, and that the documents he has published in his book "have never been published before and the name Lloyd John Wilson is unknown to John Q. Citizen, let alone the majority of the research community." The reason that Wilson's name is largely unknown to the research community is that no one takes his story seriously. The documents that Palamara has published in his book are readily available on the Mary Ferrell website, and indeed all of these documents were part of the Warren Commission's investigation. Warren Commission Document #222 contains Secret Service files from September 10, 1963, to January 10, 1964, on Lloyd John Wilson . Warren Commission Document #319 contains FBI documents on Lloyd John Wil son. Warren Commission Document #1192 contains additional FBI docum ents. An additional FBI report can be found here . The Secret Service learnt of Wilson, but under the alias of Dwight Allen Wilson, in September `1963 : In late October 1963, the Secret Service learned that Wilson was attempting to join the Air Force: Wilson was then interviewed : Wilson then wrote a statement about his 'threat': The case was then considered closed. Wilson was discharged from the military on December 18, 1963 : The story then got even stranger. Lloyd John Wilson then went to the FBI on December 19, 1963, and told them he was involved with Lee Harvey Oswald: Does anybody really believe that Wilson paid Lee Harvey Oswald $1,000 at a wrestling match in San Francisco to kill Kennedy? Here are some of the results of Wilson's psychiatric evaluation : Here is the psychiatric report from the Medical Center for Federal Prisoners : In May 1964, the charges against Wilson were dropped . Palamara concludes his chapter on Wilson saying, "it is a damn shame that the case against Wilson and his possible connection to Oswald and the assassination was dropped and covered up." But who in their right mind thinks that there really is a connection between Oswald and Wilson? You can read all of the various documents on Lloyd John Wilson and come up with your own conclusion. This is hardly news, and it is indeed strange that Palamara thinks the Wilson story has legs. Mr. Palamara got a bum steer, unfortunately. I will be going over the rest of Mr. Palamara's book in future posts. He has not shown any evidence of a plot against JFK in Chicago. Part of the problem is that he doesn't differentiate between plots and threats. In regard to Mr. Wilson, Pala mara got a bum steer. • True Crime Tuesday

I was recently a guest on the True Crime Tuesday podcast to discuss my new book A Heritage of Nonsense: Jim Garrison's Tales of Mystery and Imagination . True Crime Tuesday presents: A Heritage Of Nonsense: Jim Garrison's Tales of Mystery and Imagination with Researcher/Author/Fred Litwin! A Heritage of Nonsense contains nine stories that illustrate Jim Garrison’s malfeasance, his paranoia, and his conspiratorial mindset. There is a commonality that runs through this book: the insidious nature of conspiracy theorists, gullibility that stretches the imagination, and a smattering of mental illness. For the first time ever, you’ll read about the East German Stasi files of Richard Case Nagell, a man who desperately needed psychiatric help; the truth about Rose Cherami who supposedly had foreknowledge of the JFK assassination; a gay rights activist who channeled Lee Harvey Oswald at a séance; a Las Vegas entertainer who became a suspect in Garrison’s investigation because of one phone call; and the search for a lost map of Dealey Plaza. Fred even solves a longstanding JFK assassination mystery. And a whole lot more. Fred joins TCT today to talk about how Jim Garrison became such a hero in Oliver Stone's JFK film when it seems that a lot of his investigations went nowhere.  We talk about some of the colorful characters in the book, including Richard Nagell, Rose Cherami, the Rev. Raymond Broshears, and how the French Intelligence nearly changed the entire narrative of the JFK assassination!    My new book, A Heritage of Nonsense: Jim Garrison's Tales of Mystery and Imagination , has nine terrific conspiracy stories.

  • Why do People Believe the Richard Case Nagell Story?

John Barbour, an unabashed fan of Jim Garrison, goes on a rant about Richard Case Nagell. Barbour is completely delusional. He has read parts of Garrison's file on Nagell but has not read the myriad psychiatric reports on Nagell. If you want to know more about Garrison and Nagell, have a look at this blog post. Nagell did not work for the KGB and he did not work for the CIA. He was a disturbed man who suffered brain damage in a plane crash in 1954. It's actually quite a sad story. If you want to learn the truth about Richard Case Nagell, then please read my book, A Heritage of Nonsense: Jim Garrison's Tales of Mystery and Imagination . I've already covered a lot of the Nagell story right here on my blog. But that just gives you snippets -- the whole narrative is in my book, and I also have information from Nagell's Stasi file which has yet to be published. After my upcoming speech at JFK Lancer in November, I will be publishing the complete Stasi file along with a translation. The file includes a 26-page psychiatric report. One page in the file notes that "after he became increasingly involved in contradictions and found himself faced with the need to provide concrete and detailed information, he fundamentally refused to make any statements and became violent." This is just a taste of the file. By the way, Nagell told the East Germans that he worked intermittently for the People's Republic of China from 1956 to 1962. He also said they did not pay him, and that he was upset that they never even thanked him for his service. Much more to come. . • Alvin Beauboeuf, R.I.P.

I was dismayed to learn that Al Beauboeuf, David Ferrie's friend, had died in early 2023 . Al Beauboeuf's booking photo from the assassination weekend. I spoke to Al Beauboeuf on the telephone back in May 2020 when I was writing my book On the Trail of Delusion -- Jim Garrison: The Great Accuser . Beauboeuf traveled with David Ferrie and Mel Coffey to Houston and Galveston during the assassination weekend. They arrived back on Sunday, November 24th, and Beauboeuf and Layton Martens were brought in for questioning. arrested at Ferrie's apartment for vagrancy. He was an expert roller skater but had never gone ice skating. They were originally going to go to Baton Rouge to ice skate but the rink was closed because of the assassination. But the rinks in Houston were open, and the decision was made to drive there. Jim Garrison made much of the fact that they drove through a rainstorm to get to Houston. But Beauboeuf told me that Ferrie would fly through anything -- right through thunderstorm -- so that driving on a highway through some rain was nothing. He was still very fond of David Ferrie. Beauboeuf was also bribed by Garrison's men. HIs lawyer was smart enough to tape the conversation. The tape has disappeared but there are transcripts. We know the tape existed because there was a police investigation into the bribery and their report discusses what was on the tape. Beauboeuf told me that Lynn Loisel, one of Garrison's men, stuck a gun in his face. He threatened to blow his ass off if he didn't recant. In addition, Loisel said that he had some naked photographs of Beauboeuf that he would show around town (taken from the police raid on Ferrie' apartment on November 24th). Beauboeuf did back off the allegation and signed a statement that he was not bribed. But he told me that it was very much a bribe and that the tape is accurate word for word. Wire service photograph from May 10, 1967 In August 2023, I was going through the Garrison papers that Harry Connick had found when he took office in 1973. Amongst the papers were three naked photographs of Al Beauboeuf. You can imagine my surprise when I found them in the Beauboeuf file folder. Garrison had kept those photos for years. At some future date, I will be posting a major blog article on the bribery attempt. • James DiEugenio Refuses to Admit He Used Fake Handbills in "JFK: Destiny Betrayed"

Screen shot from JFK: Destiny Betrayed Oliver Stone used a fake handbill in his movie JFK , and a fake handbill was also used in his so-called documentary series JFK: Destiny Betrayed . The fake handbills were a topic of discussion on the Education Forum this week, and Mr. DiEugenio posted this reply : First, DiEugenio claimed that Dave Boylan answered my challenge. But he just posted this from the HSCA: It's clear that Mr. DiEugenio has not read my blog posts. Yes, 544 Camp Street was stamped on a few Corliss Lamont pamphlets. But the handbills that Oswald handed out in New Orleans on three occasions either were stamped with his home address or with his P. O. Box. Here are some comments on Mr. DiEugenio's post: He claims that Banister had become "angry" because of the use of 544 Camp Street. However, while this quote is from John Newman's book, Oswald and the CIA , his source is Delphine Roberts. Even the HSCA found her to be not credible . I discuss the credibility of Roberts here . DiEugenio quotes a Banister employee quoted in Newman's book. That employee was Bill Nitschke. I have a copy of his deposition before the HSCA. All he said was that Banister had a copy of Oswald's handbill after they had been handed out. Nitschke remembered nothing of the handbill and said only that Banister seemed upset because of the communist nature of the flyer. Jesse Core, who worked at the Trade Mart, kept a handbil l and donated it to the Historic New Orleans Collection: DiEugenio references his own book regarding Oswald being seen at 544 Camp Street. His witnesses include Delphine Roberts (see above), her daughter who told all sorts of ridiculous stories to Gerald Posner, Mary Brengel , Dan Campbell , Allen Campbell , Vern Gerdes , and Tommy Baumler , As far as scratching out addresses on handbills, check out this blog post . • Oliver Stone Gets Away with Nonsense

Oliver Stone was recently in Dallas for a showing of several of his films, including JFK, at the Texas Theater . An incredible puff piece which included this: I haven’t gone down the rabbit hole on JFK’s assassination, but friends who have will tell me: The conspiracies are fun, but at the end of the day, it’s just a lone gunman. They often cite Vincent Bugliosi’s book. What are your thoughts on Reclaiming History ? It’s ridiculous. It’s like citing Gerald Posner’s book [ Case Closed ]. The best refutation is from Jim DiEugenio, who went into Bugliosi’s book detail by detail [ Reclaiming Parkland ]. It’s sad that people don’t bother to read the rebuttals. I went back to all this material in 2021 with the documentary JFK Revisited . It’s very clear that Oswald was known to the CIA. I don’t want to get into all the arguments here, but that documentary is worth seeing. Of course, Oliver Stone does not want to "get into all the arguments" because he not capable of defending his position. At the JFK event at the Texas Theater, Oliver Stone was interviewed by Matt Zoller Seitz, who was the author of The Oliver Stone Experience . You can see the interview here: It's a horrible mess and Seitz just fawns all over Stone. This stood out: (9:20) Oliver Stone : And we, and I made another film called JFK Revisited about three years ago, was it? Four years ago? For those of you who are interested see it, because we did two versions, a two-hour and a four-hour version. But in there we go into much more detail, and we update the information that we have, which is very important, because there was quite a lot more evidence now, of the Oswald connection to the CIA, there's more evidence on the autopsies, more doctors, more people talked over time. We found out a lot, and it's all in that documentary, which I hope you can see. It's been a lifetime journey on this. I didn't realize I get hooked by it, but yeah, I feel very strongly that Garrison was correct. He was on the right trail. I keep on hoping that one day Oliver Stone will see the light about Clay Shaw : (14:16) Oliver Stone : I also put the argument in, and I hope it got through that Garrison had a weak case, and that was ... it was very evident he didn't, he didn't really have the evidence on Shaw, but Shaw was lying, and he did have a record, and he was ... the more we know about Shaw ... certainly, there's a New Orleans branch. There's a Dallas branch to this, and there's a Miami branch, which was the Cuban operation. I don't know how it all came together, but my sense is that it comes from the highest level. It had to, because even Alan Dulles and James Angleton, who were the two key guys at the CIA, could not go ahead without some approval, some agreement that Kennedy was dangerous to the whole structure of the United States, that a second term would be the most difficult period of all. He would really rock the boat, and he was already rocking it a little too much by the first withdrawal of 1,000 but so much more was going on, so much more. That's why you have to look at the new film. Someone was giving orders to Allen Dulles and James Angleton? Tell me more, please. Stone then goes after the Sixth Floor Museum: (32:57) Oliver Stone : It [Dealey Plaza] should be a national monument and should be preserved. But there are people in this town who want to bury the past and cover it all up, so they put up a museum which pretends to pay homage to the truth, but we know is not accurate at all. I don't have time to go into Stone's crazy geopolitical theories, but he once again claims that the world could be at peace if not for the United States. As for a question I wish that Seitz would have asked, well, have a look at page 457 from the Oliver Stone Experience . Might Seitz have followed up about this ridiculous story? And does Stone still find this story credible? What does this say about Stone's intuition about evaluating evidence? Perhaps Seitz forgot what was in his own book. What a missed opportunity. Seitz also wrote a puff piece on Stone . Of course, Jefferson Morley thinks Seitz is 'fair to Oliver' : Previous Relevant Blog Posts on Oliver Stone's JFK Is this the Oliver Stone Contract for the Ricky White Story? • Richard Case Nagell Visits Zurich

Richard Case Nagell was released from prison on April 29, 1968. He then went to New York City to visit his sister. In May, he met with Jim Garrison in Central Park. The next day Nagell met with Garrison in his hotel lobby. Soon after this meeting, Nagell claimed he was almost hit by a car driven without lights. He felt this was an attempt by the CIA to kill him and he decided to go to Europe. On June 4, 1968, he appeared at the American consulate in Zurich, Switzerland. You can see Nagell's mental issues in this cable. He was "quite incoherent, in fact appears psychotic." He told them that Garrison said he was in danger of being killed. I can certainly believe that Garrison would say that. Therefore, Nagell wanted the consulate to inform the CIA that he is in Zurich. One week later, Nagell was arrested by East Germany border guards when he attempted to enter East Germany without a visa . • Fred Litwin at JFK LANCER in November

I will be presenting at the JFK Lancer conference in Dallas this yea r. My presentation will be about Richard Case Nagell's Stasi files. One June 11, 1968, Richard Case Nagell boarded a train in Zurich headed to West Berlin. At about 3:00 a.m., it arrived at the border crossing with East Germany, and the authorities found that Nagell did not possess a transit visa. He told them that he intended to go to East Berlin to visit the embassies of the People's Republic of China, North Korea, or Cuba to apply for political asylum. Nagell was charged with espionage on June 14th. Arrest warrant for Richard Case Nagell. It accuses him of being an employee of the CIA and of carrying out espionage activities against East Germany and other socialist states. After my presentation at JFK Lancer, I will be posting Nagell's complete Stasi file on my website.
