She always had the same M.O. -- claim to have information to get people to do something or take her places.
Here is a report from 1965 about Rose Cherami getting the FBI to take her to Galveston in 1963, where her information proved useless:

The above report was written in response to this report, of this incident which occurred just one month before her death:
Cherami told the agents that she had to go along with the mob because they were "holding her six-year-old-boy, MIKE" in New Orleans, until she made $3,000 for them. Cherami refused to name those holding her son and walked out when agents probed further. It's interesting to note that she also told Lt. Francis Fruge back in 1963 that mobsters were also holding her son. Why not reuse a good story?
