My Trip to Dallas

I was in Dallas last week for three full days of touring with my JFK buddies. Sean Gaston, a high school teacher in Pennsylvania and Michel Gagne, a College Professor in Montreal, and author of Thinking Critically About the Kennedy Assassination: Debunking the Myths and Conspiracy Theories. The three of us planned for a June visit and I then called some of my other JFK buddies and it was quite the get-together.
On Monday morning we stopped at the General Walker house for an overview of what happened the night Lee Harvey Oswald tried to kill him.

No one knows as much as Steve Roe. I strongly suggest that people have a look at my podcast with Steve which covers the life of General Walker and Oswald's attempt to kill him.

From there, we all went to Charco Broiler Steak House, one of my favorite eating establishments in Dallas.

Here we all are at lunch. One the left, starting at the front, is Fred Litwin, Freda Dillard, Sean Gaston, Michel Gagne. One the right, starting at the back is Dan Evans, Frank Badalson, Steve Roe, Bill Brown, and Robert Weingartner.

One of the stores on Jefferson Boulevard had this sign:

From there we went down the street to the Texas Theater.

And then it was on to Dealey Plaza. I wasn't too pleased to see this graffiti on the picket fence:

Fred Litwin Rules is still visible on the picket fence:

Bill Brown got into a discussion with conspiracy theorist Marshall Evans, who was selling his book:

Here we are all together on the knoll:

We then drove to what once was the Western Union office where Jacky Ruby sent money to one of his strippers on the morning of November 24, 1963. The floor mosaic is still there:

We then retraced Ruby's steps to the Main Street Ramp:

Here is the ramp as seen from the window:

We then drove over the Dallas post office where Oswald maintained a post office box. The boxes are still there but the building is now an apartment building.

Oswald rented Box 2915 from October 1962 until May 1963:

And here is Bernard Weissman's post office box.

Here is his ad from the November 22nd, 1963, edition of the Dallas Morning News.

While we were on Main Street I happened to see a robot delivery vehicle.

On the next day, Monday, we started off with a tour of the Tippit shooting by Bill Brown. This was filmed and will be turned into an episode of On the Trail of Delusion.

Then it was off to Neely Street and the house where Marina Oswald took the backyard photographs.

It was hot in Dallas.

Here I am getting ready to tape one of my CIA videos.

From there is was on to Dealey Plaza for a tour with Jerry Dealey.

On Monday evening, we had dinner with Wesley Buell Frazier:

At dinner, Frank and Bill showed Buell documents from the Ripley's Believe it or not museum in San Antonio which has the car that he drove Oswald to work in on November 22nd.

Frazier denied that it was his signature on the affidavit, and that he had never notarized anything in his life.. He now believes that Oswald was innocent.

On Tuesday morning, our first stop was the Paine House.

Thanks to Sean's efforts, we managed to tour the Holocaust Museum in Dallas. It is extremely well done.

On Tuesday evening we had our traditional dinner at Campisi's the restaurant where Jack Ruby ate at the night before the assassination.

Photos used in this post were taken by Fred Litwin, Freda Dillard, and Matt Kordelski.
