It was very sad to hear the news that Mel Ayton has just died of cancer. His books on the JFK and RFK assassination are must-haves in any library. His current book on Sirhan Sirhan and his family is an important piece of work.

Mel helps us understand the angry Sirhan Sirhan who was furious at RFK for supporting arms sales to Israel. This book has material you won't see elsewhere.

The last email I received from Mel was in July. We had been discussing an interview for my podcast series, and it was to be a joint appearance with Dan Moldea to discuss the RFK assassination. I was just waiting for the two of them to be available together. Here is a portion of the email that Mel sent to me in July:

I’ve been following you for some time and used your website posts, along with Steve Roe’s, in my attempts to show how ridiculous DiEugenio et al have skewered the evidence and fooled millions of people in the US. I read your ’teenage freak’ book some years ago! Brilliant! I’m looking forward to reading what will amount to a devastating critique of Jim Garrison in your new book [A Heritage of Nonsense]. You and I both know he was a charlatan of the first order.
Dan Moldea and I have been friends for many years and I credit him with being the first writer to explain why mistakes by the LAPD and the problems arising with Sirhan’s gun and other  anomalies attached to the RFK case resulted in the many conspiracy theories spreading. I knew Dan was a believer in the mob-did-it JFK assassination story but that hasn’t interfered with our friendship.

I will try to interview Dan Moldea on my podcast to discuss the RFK assassination and his friendship with Mel Ayton.
