In April 1967, Garrison's office received a letter with a statement. Here is the letter:
And, here is the statement that was enclosed:
Now, had I received such a letter and statement, I would have tossed it into the garbage. Not so in this case - this was a lead that must be investigated.
And that was the end of a tantalizing lead.
