Comments on my Clay Shaw Post

Updated: Feb 25, 2023

Two days ago, I asked an important question about Oliver Stone and Clay Shaw:

The responses from people on Facebook have been incredibly disappointing. The slandering of an innocent man, in my opinion, deserves intelligent debate and perhaps some honest reflection. Instead, most of the comments are just partisan insults. Have a look:

James Meerschaert is a Judyth supporter. I can always count on him for bringing a smile to my face.

I don't know if I am a lackey or a shill for the CIA, but this comes up on a regular basis.

Nothing like good logic. My 'attack' on Jim Garrison confirms Mr. Loftus' suspicions.

No one can tell me what evidence there is that Clay Shaw conspired to kill JFK.

Paul Hoch asked Jim Garrison that exact question, and I then followed up.

So far, nothing. People are happy to repeat conspiracy claims, but are seldom able to back them up.

In this case, the discussion even morphed to the three tramps and E. Howard Hunt and Frank Sturgis.

Now. what books does this person read?

Some people believe that posting an article from the internet will convince me. In this case, it's an article from the Future of Freedom Foundation who pushes all sorts of JFK conspiracy nonsense -- particularly on the medical evidence. In this case, they are just repeating an allegation that I have debunked. Typically when I ask about Clay Shaw's involvement in the conspiracy, people just tell me he was CIA.

Oh, Clay Shaw had ties to the "money men who run the world." Well, that convinces me. The amount of nonsense spewed about Permindex is staggering. Permindex was an attempt to start a permanent commercial exhibition in Rome but failed because of a lack of tenants. Clay Shaw was on the board, but he never even attended a meeting.

People just don't know the case:

Here is a decent comment:

Some Facebook groups are better than others. Here are some good comments:

But, back to the insults:

Michael Rinella, author of a good book on Willem Oltmans, the Dutch JFK assassination researcher, added to the discussion:

I don't know Mr. Mule, but he gets it:

Mr. Molloy is only willing to admit one error by Oliver Stone:

Mr. Hales knows when Oliver Stone should apologize:

Doug O'Brien frequently insults me on Facebook:

Thomas Herbert, who has written two conspiracy books, clearly,

did not read my post. He thinks I was only talking about Stone's film JFK:

His answer to a good comment by James Smith is ridiculous:

Mr. Lee knows what happened:

Brian Doyle leaves silly comments on a variety of forums. Nothing in this comment is true:

Mr. Houckham has a lot to learn:

And, finally, a good comment from Mr. Tindell:

Don't miss the Viewer's Guide to JFK: Destiny Betrayed and JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass.

Over the past several months, I have shown in multiple blog posts how Oliver Stone's documentary series, JFK Revisited and JFK: Destiny Betrayed, misleads viewers. In fact, despite months of work, there are still many more misleading segments that need to be addressed. It's no wonder that the fact checkers of Netflix nixed the airing of the films.

There is a choice between four hours of tendentious nonsense (JFK: Destiny Betrayed) and two hours (JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass). As a handy guide for viewers, here are all those posts in order of their appearance in JFK: Destiny Betrayed and JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass, preceded by some general critiques.

The Viewer's Guide has now been updated to include the sources from my new book, Oliver Stone's Film-Flam: The Demagogue of Dealey Plaza.
